Projects

Some ideas don’t stop at one artwork. They keep growing, changing and pulling me back in. This is where you’ll find the projects I’m continuing to follow.I enjoy making connections between things. Watching an idea slowly come together is probably my favourite part. Sometimes it becomes a painting, sometimes a collection of handmade objects, and sometimes it sits in a notebook until I finally work out what I was trying to say.I don’t think making things gives me answers. I think it helps me ask better questions.

Elsewhere

I started writing my dreams down years ago because I didn’t want to forget them, but eventually I realised writing wasn’t enough. When I started making art again, they were some of the first things I wanted to come back to.Every dream leaves something different behind. Sometimes it’s just the feeling of having been there. Sometimes it’s a colour, a place or a single vivid moment. They didn’t arrive like other ideas. They came to me in my sleep, somewhere beyond my waking mind. I’m still curious about where they come from, and I think that’s part of why I keep coming back to them.Elsewhere just felt like the right place to keep them.

The Back Shelf

The Back Shelf is an ongoing series inspired by places that have stayed with me.Some places leave an impression long after I’ve left. I’m drawn to the atmosphere that’s built up over time and the small details that make them feel unlike anywhere else. Rather than painting what a place looks like, I want to paint the impression it leaves behind.I called the series The Back Shelf because I feel like every place has one. A quiet place where things slowly collect, where random objects get left for another day, and where everything builds up over time. I think places become memorable in much the same way.

I Swear, I’m Fine

I Swear, I’m Fine is an ongoing body of work about the contradictions of being human. It began during a time when a lot in my life was changing. Looking back, I realised how often I’d told people I was fine when that wasn’t really true. Not because I wanted to lie, but because it felt easier than knowing where to begin. The work isn’t about mental health. It’s about the space between what we feel and what we choose to show. I’m interested in shame, desire, temptation, collapse, performance, and all the contradictions that exist alongside one another.I want the work to feel familiar but unsettling. Like you’ve wandered into someone else’s mind for a while.
